SUMMARY
Performs civil engineering work including developmental assignments involving the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out routine engineering tasks under close supervision.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE
Our exciting and entrepreneurial culture will require you to think creatively, solve problems and meet the needs of our clients daily. A typical day might include the following:
Responsible for designing specific system components for the overall design effort.
Performs design calculations, prepares equipment or material specifications, and provides direction to technical support or drafting personnel.
Preparing estimates of probable construction cost.
Determines additional information that is needed from internal clients and coordinates them directly with LJA.
Being familiar with Agency Submittals/Approvals as it applies to the project.
Using general mathematical skills to manipulate standard design formulas.
Interacting with outside agencies and project team members.
Carrying out assigned duties as required.
Applies prescribed methods to complete specific portions of the broader assignment of a professional engineer.
Adjusts and correlates data.
Recognizes discrepancies in results and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
May exercise judgment in making preliminary method selections and the adoption of alternatives.
"MUST HAVE" QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Science, in Civil Engineering.
2+ years of post-graduate experience in land development civil engineering.
Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE
Certified Engineer-in-Training
Passed the PE exam
Experience with WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, ICPR4, HEC-RAS, or other engineering software.
Previous work experience in an AEC related firm.
