To support our expanding business, RMS Energy is currently seeking a Construction Manager to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team. Our Construction Managers lead and manage the operational and financial aspects of the field execution of large, Turn-Key, and EPC projects, serving as the primary liaison with the client's site project teams during construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Project Execution Plans are implemented, training is provided, and quality defects are proactively managed to prevent rework and deliver a superior product.
  • Participates in upfront planning and ensures adherence to construction, testing, and commissioning schedules.
  • Supports Project Managers in staffing the construction and craft teams, ensuring adequate resources for schedule and budget.
  • Coordinates with the Project Manager and operations to select equipment, control costs, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Ensures implementation of RMS Energy's safety program and works with the Safety Team to foster a proactive and respectful culture.
  • Maintains SOW and preconstruction documents; builds vendor relationships to meet contract obligations.
  • Directs general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to meet quality standards.
  • Conducts and documents QA and safety inspections, ensuring safe conditions and proper equipment.
  • Manages client site relationships, shares project status, addresses concerns, and offers solutions.
  • Troubleshot issues, proposes solutions, and secures team buy-in for delays or disruptions.
  • Resolves disputes with subcontractors, suppliers, or clients to maintain momentum.
  • Supports creation of scenario plans and alternative work strategies to meet project schedules.
  • Updates the Project Manager on safety, quality, schedule, risks, changes, and team needs.
  • Collaborates with the Project Manager on budget, productivity, and construction schedule, ensuring team alignment.
  • Assists with monthly forecasting and scheduling.
  • Conducts post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned for future planning.
  • Identifies, mitigates, and tracks recurring construction issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ Years of managing utility-scale generation projects, including high voltage infrastructure.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a strong customer focus and the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills, demonstrating a capacity for managing multiple priorities and driving project success.
  • Prior experience managing field operations teams is preferred
  • Proficiency in project management tools to include Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel
  • Prior experience managing government (state/federal) projects preferred
  • Prior experience with electrical installation/construction projects

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to various job site environments. The position demands physical mobility to navigate uneven surfaces, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, fine motor skills for handling small components and tools, and the capability to climb ladders and work at heights. Sustained physical effort, including standing, bending, pushing, digging, pulling, kneeling, crawling, and reaching for extended periods, is required. Good vision, including color vision and depth perception, and the ability to hear alarms and communicate in noisy environments are essential. Additionally, proficiency in speaking, hearing, reading, and typing in English is required for effective communication and documentation.

Travel requirements will make it necessary to drive a car (day and/or night) and, at times, fly in an airplane. This position has varying travel requirements consistent with job location, workload, and maximizing utilization. Travel demands can range up to 60%.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform keying functions, grasp, and pinch to write. The employee will frequently (34-66% of the workday) be required to sit, walk, and stand. Occasionally (6-33% of the workday), the employee will be required to bend, twist/turn, reach out, lift/carry, and push and pull. The employee infrequently (2-5% of the workday) will be required to squat/kneel and climb. The employee is required to infrequently (2-5% of the workday) lift and carry up to 21-50 pounds and will occasionally (6-33% of the workday) be required to lift and carry 11 to 20 pounds.
