This is a remote role located in the Southeast Region of the US. Candidates must be located in this area to be considered for the role. Around 50% of travel is required.

The Technical Development Manager (TDM) partners with the Technical Account Manager (TAM) within a geographic region to drive opportunity development from concept through pre-commercialization to market and is responsible for engaging with customer technical teams and focusing on formulation development using IMCD's broad ingredient portfolio. This includes various active delivery systems and routes of administration for solid dose immediate and modified release, liquid suspension, and topical delivery, as well as inhalation and injectable therapies, among others.
Other TDM activities include presentation creation for internal and external training workshops related to ingredient technology and formulation development, and may include using the extensive catalogue of supplier presentations. The TDM is encouraged to contribute to drafting articles, posters, and technical literature. The TDM engages with principal partners to review project pipelines and coordinate customer joint visits.Reporting to Technical Director, North America, the TDM will liaise with Principal Managers (PM) to ensure strategic initiatives are coordinated and implemented with IMCD's sales teams and customers.
Successful candidates will be responsible to:
Travel to customers' research & development and manufacturing sites to promote, support, and encourage principals' products and IMCD concept use
Develop and lead technical application discussions with customer technical and operations groups as well as sales teams using the various technical information tools available
Routinely demonstrate ability to understand customer core formulation initiatives and guide development and troubleshooting strategies
Recommend formulation excipient and process selection, based on customer targets.
Organize timely customer sample acquisition in cooperation with sales support, principal managers and/or principals
Prepare and present technical information (oral and written) for both internal and external training seminars and workshops and product promotion events
Coordinate training for sales teams and other personnel as required
Support IMCD technical resources, when appropriate, including the NJ Pharma Technical Centre for purposes of customer support
Collaborate with Technical Marketing Team for coordinated promotion of new products and initiatives
Prepare Key Project reports, customer visit itineraries, and associated reports
Use CRM software tools to create opportunities and tasks, respond to enquiries, update project database, and capture notes of key customer and principal interactions
Liaise with Principals' technical counterparts to discuss customer project activities and coordinate joint technical meetings with customers

Required Qualifications:
Degree in Industrial Pharmacy/Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline required; advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 10 years experience in pharmaceutical/nutraceutical laboratory or industrial pharmacy environment with an emphasis in formulation development in Oral/Topical dosage forms or other related dosage forms
Desired Qualifications:
An understanding of the pharmaceutical development and registration process is preferred
Knowledge of dosage form development and manufacturing major pharmaceutical processes and formulation and manufacture of finished dosage forms
Experience giving strong technical presentation skills at an academic or industry forum required
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Background as a Pharmacist formulator or in similar product development background preferred
Strong ability for customer interfacing exposure to customer interaction
Ideal candidate will possess commercial/business development as well as technical abilities

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., unless otherwise directed. Additional hours may be required as needed.
Travel
