Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Project Engineer to join our Metering Program Management Team, focusing on renewable power projects. Ideally located in Juno Beach, Florida, or within the state with the ability to visit the office when required. The role involves overseeing the development, design, programming, and installation of metering systems for wind, solar, and battery energy storage sites, ensuring compliance with project requirements and commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering, design, and development support for metering projects.
  • Track and report on project contractual execution and design progress.
  • Deliver company standards and policies while supporting organizational goals.
  • Prepare communications and presentations, providing support at meetings.
  • Formulate research and develop improvement measures for metering systems.
  • Collaborate with other departments to establish customer requirements.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply diversified knowledge of metering concepts and best practices.
  • Oversee the work of external Metering Engineers of Record (EORs) and perform project management duties.
  • Ability to work extended hours as required.

Essential Skills

  • Strong project management and technical skills.
  • Experience managing third-party engineering companies.
  • Ability to coordinate a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience with commercial agreements and vendor management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of overall substation design and complex metering systems.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 7-10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with P&C/Substation/Metering Engineering and Project Management.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of metering experience required.
  • Familiarity with Schneider Electric ION-8650 meters and metering technologies.
  • Ability to program meters or create metering templates.
  • Understanding of instrument transformers, meter to meter schemes, and loss compensation methods.
  • Proficiency in reviewing Large Generator Interconnection Agreements (LGIAs) and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability, and technical writing.

Work Environment

The role offers a corporate environment with the possibility of a hybrid work-from-home arrangement. You will be part of a growing department focused on renewable power, driven by increased demand on the grid. Dress code is business casual, and you will utilize software such as P6, MS Project, SharePoint, Schneider's ION Setup & PME Software Suites, SEL's AcSELerator Software, and Orion LX interface.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
