Welder and Fabricator**
**Job Description**
The role involves welding custom stainless steel tanks of various sizes and shapes. This position requires strong skills in stainless steel welding, experience with high-cosmetic products, and efficiency in full layout and blueprint reading. The work is evenly split between MIG and TIG welding processes. The welder/fabricator will also perform basic fabrication tasks such as cutting pipe, using a drill press, and band saw. Occasionally, polishing down the welds may be required.
**Responsibilities**
+ Setup and operate welding equipment, adjusting voltage, amperage, and gas flow.
+ Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion, making necessary repairs.
+ Grind, polish, and finish welds to meet aesthetic requirements.
+ Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
**Essential Skills**
+ Expertise in MIG welding; experience with TIG is a plus.
+ Strong cosmetic welding skills with a commitment to producing high-quality products.
+ 2+ years welding experience with emphasis on stainless steel fabrication.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
+ Physical ability to crawl, crouch, stand, stoop, bend, and lift up to 50lbs.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Completion of a vocational welding program or trade school is a plus.
+ Familiarity with various types and grades of stainless steel.
+ Prior fabrication experience including cutting, using drill press, shear, and band saw.
+ Ability to weld from all positions, including tight spots and confined spaces.
+ Interest in contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
