Project Engineer

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Project Engineer in North Haven, CT.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Engineer will lead and perform the structural design of bridges and related transportation structures (e.g., Girders, Deck, Substructure, Foundations, Retaining Walls, etc.)
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
• Perform structural analysis and load rating using industry-standard software (e.g., LARSA 4D, STADD, MathCAD PRIME, MIDAS)
• Coordinate with project managers, CAD staff, and other discipline leads to ensure timely project completion
• As a Project Engineer, you will conduct field inspections and assessments of existing structures; prepare condition evaluation reports
• Assist with proposal writing, budgeting, and client presentations
• Ensure designs adhere to applicable codes and standards (AASHTO, AREMA, LRFD, local DOT guidelines)* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required, (Master's preferred)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; SE license a plus
• 5+ years of bridge design experience, preferably on DOT or public infrastructure projects
• Proficiency in structural analysis/design software and MicroStation/AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, materials, and construction methods
• Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in FEA and complex analysis a plus
