Job Description:
Senior Mechanical Engineer (Columbia, TN) JC Ford Co.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Perform product design, computer analysis, and technical development for new capital machinery products and technologies. Design components to be manufactured via conventional machining, sheet metal bending/rolling, welding, CNC machining and other related processes using Autodesk Inventor CAD models and drawings. Ensure designs meet product specifications, regulatory requirements, and international standards. Create and release product Bills of Materials. Apply principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) quality. Perform tolerance analyses. Participate in Design and Drawing Reviews. Develop product requirements and specification documents. Develop test procedures, conduct product testing, and validate for production. Support the development of project schedules and budgets. Perform and document Root Cause Analyses and Corrective Action Plans. Recommend various technology options or approaches for improvements in systems, processes, facilities, or programs in terms of safety, performance, efficiency, and cost. Specify supplied components to meet design requirements and for continuous improvement. Support the work of less senior Mechanical Engineers and CAD Designers. Contribute to Engineering process development.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Experience must include five (5) years with each of the following:

1.Combustion system.
2.Managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with high level of autonomy.
3.Advanced technical writing.
4.Analyzing complex data.
5.Mechanical engineering principles and methodologies.
6.3D CAD modeling and drawing creation.
7.PDM with Autodesk Vault Pro.
8.Structural finite element analysis.
