**Job Description**

Look for a Custom logic, FPGA, design engineer familiar with the DO-254 design process for avionics hardware. Performing tasks for any portion in the design lifecycle of an FPGA in the Xilinx, Microsemi and other product families.

Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

**Roles and Responsibilities:**

+ Perform the design, simulation and verification of an FPGA and manage the requirements with the applicable tool.

+ Prepare the necessary documentation for product development and DO-254 certification.

+ Testing and integration of the FPGA into a circuit card assembly.

+ Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.

+ Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

+ May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

+ A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE.

+ Explains technical information to others.

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's degree in Electric Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

+ Minimum of 4 years professional experience in engineering (may include internships and co-ops).

+ This role requires basic experience in the Engineering/Technology & Electronic Hardware. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

**Eligibility Requirement (s):**

+ **This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.**

**Desired Characteristics:**

+ Preferred candidate has experience with Zynq and Polarfire devices in system on chip or system on module applications with the knowledge of high speed data interfaces and functions used in computing applications such as PCIe, AXI bus, SERDES, DMA, ect.

+ Knowledge of avionics interfaces and protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, A429, A664, ethernet, etc. is a plus.

+ Prior experience in VHDL Test Benches, UVM Test Benches and VxWorks C Software is a plus.

+ Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

The base pay range for this position is $90,800.00 - $121,100.00.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidates experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 8/01/2025.
