Maintenance Mechanic

Our client, a key global provider of sustainable packaging solutions, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join their team. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be part of the maintenance department supporting the production team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement, which will align successfully with the organization.

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Hammond, IN

Pay Range: $36.60/hr (Union - Set Rate)

What's the Job?

• Plan and lead maintenance projects to ensure operational efficiency.
• Diagnose and solve mechanical problems as they arise in production machinery.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment such as conveyor systems and hydraulics.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and visually inspect machinery to prevent issues.
• Engage in continuous improvement processes to enhance operational performance.

What's Needed?

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical systems knowledge with experience in hydraulics and basic electricity.
• Proficiency in welding and fabrication is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and diagrams for effective repairs.
• Physical capability to lift 50+ lbs and perform various physical tasks.
