**What You'll Do as Maintenance Supervisor:**

+ Plan and assign routine activities and direct the work of individuals or small crews to improve, repair and maintain facilities and systems.

+ Determines equipment, material and staff needed to complete the work.

+ Assign tasks to a variety of skilled and semi-skilled employees in the General Maintenance Series Classification. Tasks may include, but are not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, lines, drinking fountains, lighting fixtures and restroom and other fixtures.

+ Coordinates a variety of fabrication, installation and repairs tasks on damaged interior walls, tiles, flooring, door frames and other structures.

+ Inspects facilities to determine the need for repair or maintenance and coordinates or directs repairs needed.

+ Completes and keeps records of job order assignments and follow up on service of equipment.

+ Participation in the Performance Evaluation Program is required.

**What You'll Need:**

+ Requires knowledge of PC functions and Software.

+ Operation of windows applications, MS Word, MS Excel, etc. and related applications.

+ Experience using hand tools, power tools and electrical equipment.

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

+ Minimum three (3) years of experience, including one (1) year in a lead capacity in general indoor facility maintenance and repair involving plumbing, irrigation, electrical and carpentry work or any equivalent of education and experience which meets qualifications.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**

+ Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Frequently required to sit and climb or balance.

+ Use of hands and fingers to handle or feel. Ability to reach with hands and arms.

+ Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds assisted.

+ Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

+ Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in the various areas of assignment; use of hand and power tools in the construction, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and plumbing trades; general construction codes; safety practices and procedures.

+ Ability to plan, direct, train, oversee and perform skilled maintenance, construction, and repair work in the assigned area; use and maintain common hand tools, small power equipment and other facility equipment.

+ Mathematical skills to compute measurements

+ Ability to communicate both orally and in written format, including ability to instruct others in correct maintenance procedures and safe use of materials and equipment.

+ Ability to work as a team member

+ Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision

**Other Requirements:**

+ Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.

+ Possess valid drivers license and maintain good driving record.

+ Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and extreme heat/cold.

+ Ability to be on call after house and handle emergency calls.

+ Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.

+ Working around tools and equipment which require care and attention to prescribed safety practices.

+ Loud noise environment.

+ Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.

+ Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
