Stryker Neurovascular Division is hiring a Senior Materials Engineer R&D to work in Salt Lake City, Utah. Neurovascular | Stryker .

This role requires a hybrid work arrangement, with a minimum of three days per week at our Salt Lake City location: 4870 West 2100 South, Utah.

What You Will Do:
  • Independently plan and manage daily activities to meet project timelines and milestones.
  • Design and coordinate engineering tests, analyze results, and prepare technical documentation and reports.
  • Develop and fabricate tooling, fixtures, and automation to support product and process development.
  • Troubleshoot design, material, or process-related issues in new products and manufacturing.
  • Apply design control principles and ensure high-quality deliverables in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, manufacturing, clinical, regulatory, and marketing teams to drive project success.
What You Need:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (or related technical field) required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience, or a Masters degree in Engineering with applicable specialization
Preferred Requirements:
  • Prior experience in the medical device industry, with exposure to physician interaction and understanding of clinical procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills to resolve technical challenges.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and understand basic system-level issues.
  • Working knowledge of material science, with emphasis on nanotechnology applications.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation/FEA tools (Ansys, Abaqus, CATIA); familiarity with guidewires, catheters, or robotics is a plus.
  • Provide guidance or training to technicians and contribute to building quality into all aspects of engineering work.
