Job Description:
Under general direction of Director of Engineering and Manager of the Installation Team, survey and analyze customer's production process and service needs to formulate project task lists and assign tasks for installation, integration, and test-run of machine vision systems.
Plan and supervise activities of Installation Team, including supervision of 4-6 subordinate engineers and technicians.
Lead the installation, configuration, and integration of machine vision systems, including the design and implementation of hardware setups for optical components (cameras, lenses, lighting) and laser marking equipment, calibrate and align system components to ensure precision and accuracy, and configure communication protocols for seamless integration with production equipment and control systems.
Supervise the test-run and tuning process, optimizing parameters such as object recognition, defect detection thresholds, and measurement tools, while enhancing real-time data acquisition and processing performance.
Supervise the test-run and validation of machine vision systems by conducting comprehensive diagnostic tests under operational conditions, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to address any discrepancies or failures, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
Direct the development of troubleshooting procedures and provide technical support for post-installation issues, including system repairs and operational optimization.
Consult with customer companies' engineers and technicians regarding proper operation of customized vision inspection system and provide technical expertise and trainings for optimal use, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Train and supervise newly hired subordinate engineers and technicians.
Evaluate performance of subordinate employees and recommend personnel actions to Manager and Director of Engineering.
Job Requirements:
Extensive experience with the design, installation, and integration of machine vision systems, including optical components (cameras, lenses, and lighting) and laser marking equipment.
Proficiency in configuring communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, RS232, RS485, Modbus, or TCP/IP for seamless system integration with production equipment.
Advanced knowledge of calibration and alignment techniques for ensuring precision and accuracy in optical and laser-based systems.
Proven leadership experience in supervising technical teams and overseeing complex installation projects.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex automation issues, including root cause analysis and quality analysis.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, delegate, and oversee multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
