Maintenance Electrician**

**Omaha, NE | $25 - $45/hr**

A well-established packaging manufacturer in Omaha is seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join their team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production equipment. **Job Description**

The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of manufacturing equipment, including pre-press, sheeting, printing, and finishing machinery. This role requires a strong knowledge of electro-mechanics and PLCs, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues efficiently, while adhering to the highest safety standards. This position operates during the 1st shift, Monday to Friday, and may require working overtime or rotating shifts.

**Responsibilities**

+ Diagnose and troubleshoot machinery malfunctions by conferring with operators and observing equipment.

+ Disassemble machinery and equipment to access and replace defective parts, followed by reassembly.

+ Install, repair, replace, and align components of machinery and equipment.

+ Test-run repaired machinery to ensure repairs are adequate.

+ Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) on equipment failures.

+ Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other equipment parts.

+ Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear.

+ Complete daily work orders within specified time frames.

+ Install machinery and equipment as needed.

+ Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth operation of machinery and building systems.

+ Inspect drives, motors, belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform maintenance functions using checklists.

+ Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other materials between work areas using carts, forklifts, and pallet jacks.

+ Record repairs and maintenance performed in SAP.

+ Order or requisition parts and supplies from catalogs and suppliers or obtain them from storerooms.

**Essential Skills**

+ Electrical mechanical maintenance expertise.

+ Proficiency in troubleshooting, conduit, wiring, repair, and electronics.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Experience with industrial maintenance electrician tasks.

+ Knowledge of PLCs and RCFA processes.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Electricity, Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.

+ Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment performing electrical and mechanical maintenance (5+ years preferred).

+ Proven experience with troubleshooting and repairing PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation equipment.

+ Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

+ Familiarity with AC/DC motors, drives, sensors, and control systems.

+ Ability to use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and PLC programming software.

+ Experience with preventative maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.

+ Basic mechanical skills including hydraulics, pneumatics, and problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.

+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

**Work Environment**

Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery. The role requires physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly. Employees must be comfortable working upwards of 6 days a week for upwards of 60 hours per week and may need to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts. The position requires the use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment, as well as PPE such as steel-toed safety footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, cut-resistant safety gloves, hair nets, and beard nets.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
