Job Description
To perform skilled trade duties in the operation, maintenance, and repair of buildings and related facilities and systems; perform related work.
Participates and or supervises in all event set-up, tear-down, game management as well as the maintenance and upkeep of special event venues.
Key Responsibilities
Oversees and supervises event set-ups and event tear-downs as well as construction, repair and maintenance of special events facilities. Replaces switches, receptacles, ballasts, motors, fans, etc. Maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures, faucets, sinks, water heaters, woodworking, commercial cleaning, custodial practices, supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Good knowledge of:
- Carpentry, plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance.
Some knowledge of:
- HVAC and mechanical systems maintenance.
- Building codes.
Experience:
- Performing skilled carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance repair.
- Using and maintaining tools and equipment normally associated with carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Reading blueprints and schematics.
MQ Specialties
- These positions at ISU require a valid standard driver's license.
- These positions on the Pocatello campus require the ability to demonstrate successful completion of both a physical exam, including cardiopulmonary function testing and chest x-ray, and a respirator fit test.
Supplemental Information
- Incumbents may work in all weather conditions and move in and around confined spaces.
- These positions are maintenance oriented.
- When working under the supervision of a licensed journeyman in a respective trade area incumbents can be an apprentice in that specialty.
- These positions involve lifting and carrying items weighing approximately 90 pounds, bending, stooping, shoveling, and climbing ladders.
- Incumbents respond to emergency call-backs.
Additional Information
ISU minimum for this classification is $17.25/hour.
