DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be responsible for performing skilled tasks that involve interior and exterior painting of buildings, fixtures, and equipment; preparing surfaces for painting or staining by the use of burners, strippers, or sandpaper for smooth surface consistency; and mixing and matching paint coatings and stains. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is subject to emergency call-in.
  • Overtime and travel, as needed.

  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Building Trades Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in the painting trade; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

  • You possess current driver's license which is not under suspension.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
