CNC Maintenance Mechanic**

**Job Description**

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for managing a preventive maintenance program, scheduling, coordinating, and performing maintenance activities to minimize disruptions and equipment repairs for 22 machines in our 18,000 sq ft manufacturing shop. This role encompasses troubleshooting, repair, proper logging, and reporting of maintenance activities, along with timely communication to all affected teams.

**Responsibilities**

+ Learn the maintenance requirements for all machines.

+ Execute proper start-up, set-up, and shut-down procedures for all machines.

+ Review, understand, and troubleshoot error codes.

+ Move machines into service modes or locations to provide full maintenance access.

+ Perform predictive maintenance in conjunction with established maintenance schedules.

+ Administer specific cleaning procedures to all machines, as per schedule.

+ Report, log, and track issues related to specific machine predictive maintenance and consumables.

+ Maintain a To-Do list for all maintenance requirements (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly).

+ Report any issues within the department, including Quality Control, maintenance, inventory, and safety.

+ Check oil and coolant levels daily, fill as required.

+ Handle machine cleaning and coolant changes.

+ Operate forklift truck to move various materials, load and unload bins & pallets.

+ Check and repair items throughout the shop (doors, lights, etc.).

+ Conduct general maintenance and housekeeping throughout the shop as needed.

+ Remove, weigh, and replace chip drums.

+ Communicate and collaborate effectively with affected departments.

+ Identify and share process improvements for maintenance efficiency.

+ Perform additional tasks as needed.

+ Adhere to all established safety and PPE policies.

+ Strong technical expertise in maintenance processes, equipment, and technologies.

+ Effective communication skills for conveying maintenance plans and safety protocols.

+ Effective problem-solving abilities, especially in diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues.

+ Project management skills to handle multiple maintenance projects simultaneously.

+ Ability to accurately read measuring devices, including tape measure, caliper, micrometer, etc.

+ 3+ years of experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.

+ Experience with safety regulations, such as OSHA, and environmental compliance.

**Work Environment**

The role is a 1st shift position, with standard hours from 6 AM to 3:30 PM, currently working 9-hour shifts. Expect to work 50 hours a week once fully trained. Our smaller shop consists of 22 workers on the 1st shift, featuring 6 brand new CNC machines. You will be working in a job shop environment with low quantity runs averaging 20-100 pieces.

This is a Permanent position based out of Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
