DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Carpenter 1, you will perform a full range of journeyman level carpentry duties to include estimating time, material requirements, and supplies. You will be responsible for planning work in accordance with sketches and blueprints, selecting lumber and materials, and accurately measuring and cutting material to the proper dimensions. Duties also include performing alterations, repairs, and maintenance for a variety of structures, operating power saws and other related equipment. In addition to carpentry work, this position is also responsible for snow and ice removal when necessary. Within this role, it is imperative to consistently adhere to established guidelines and operating procedures to ensure safety.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- This position is considered essential. You will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings. Snow and ice removal are mandatory duties.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of the Building Trades Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience in the construction, installation, repair, restoration, or maintenance of structures and articles made from wood, composite, and wood substitute materials; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
