Job Title: Transportation Engineer
Job Description
An immediate opening for a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead the transportation design team located at our Roswell, Georgia headquarters. The ideal candidate has civil engineering experience with a focus in transportation in the consulting industry and/or experience working with or for public sector clients. They should also have experience managing a design team, coordinating with clients, and leading the delivery of transportation planning and/or design projects. In addition to project delivery responsibilities, candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage personnel, budgets, schedules, sub-consultants, and client interaction. Applicants must be self-motivated and place a high emphasis on teamwork to produce exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks with potentially complex features that will require mature knowledge, sound principles, and best practices.
- Work independently on smaller projects, and as a team lead on larger projects.
- Lead the design of assigned projects to ensure sound design practices, quality control implementation, and focused schedule adherence.
- Provide supervision and guidance to a group of employees, assign tasks, check work for accuracy and completeness, and maintain budgets and schedules.
- Support proposal efforts to expand our project base in Georgia and other states.
- Lead the development of project designs and plan production, including urban and rural roadways, intersections, and bicycle/pedestrian facilities.
- Lead and monitor the work of an assigned team to ensure budgets and schedules are met.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, project team, and clients.
- Serve as engineer of record for design, review, and sealing of assigned projects.
- Supervise the work of assigned engineers and design staff.
- Maintain the standard of quality control and assurance measures and provide oversight in development and production of project drawings, specifications, documents, and reports.
- Help lead strategic business development efforts to grow the transportation design team.
Essential Skills
- Engineer-in-Training (E.i.T) or Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Georgia.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- 10+ years of experience working on roadway design projects including design experience for GDOT and local government transportation projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, and OpenRoads 3D modeling tools.
- Working knowledge and experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD.
- Ability to work independently and in a project team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven business development experience.
- High degree of integrity, professional ethics, respect, and responsibility/ownership.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- GDOT PDP Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- EIT certification is preferred.
- Civil engineering skills, with proficiency in producing GDOT drawings and understanding GDOT standards.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, have good follow-through, and practice self-implemented quality control measures.
- Positive attitude with a focus on quality, service, and collaborative success.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $55.00/hr.
