Job Description
Job Summary:
Hoffman Building Technologies is recruiting for an experienced Controls Technician to support the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of automated control systems. The Controls Technician will handle the start up and commissioning of DDC Systems by following commissioning procedures and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial control systems.
- Update wiring diagrams and sequence changes, maintain current DDC program and displays.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, electricians, and production teams to support automation needs.
- Maintain documentation for all control systems, including backup of programs and updates to schematics.
- Perform preventive maintenance on control systems and instrumentation.
- Comply with all relevant safety standards and practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Industrial Controls, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in controls, automation, or industrial maintenance.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and instrumentation.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Tridium, Niagara, Distech preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
- Experience in manufacturing, facilities management, or process industries.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in industrial environments (heat, noise, heights, confined spaces).
- Lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
