A Brief Summary of This Position

This position is an individual contributor top-tier subject matter expert crane operator role responsible for operating all crane types in the plant. This person must maintain good housekeeping, communicate production issues to a supervisor, and work well as a team player while adhering to all safety procedures.

Essential Functions

  • KNOWLEDGE OF ALL CRANES AND PRODUCTION PROCESS: Demold poles; crane inspection; preparing to lift; lifting pole; setting pole; basic layout; remove poles from mold; removing lids; removing tension plate; mold changes; flanges placement; connecting plates; reading a schedule; remove tarp from mold; move molds per schedule line up; move mold change sections; remove lid and place on lid rack; remove and install tension plate; operate overhead crane to move poles throughout plant; housekeeping; turning molds; placing tension plates and clamps; inspect crane; preparing to lift; lifting pole; setting pole; covering molds; hook chains to mold at the hooking points per manufacturing specification; demonstrates the ability to correctly complete daily inspection card of cranes and turn in to EHS coordinator; transport coil strand safety to coil strand basket and load into basket correctly per the manufacture recommendations; transport pouring catch bucket safely to the back of the plant to be emptied by material handler.
  • SAFETY & QUALITY: Demonstrates good safety practices; performs monthly safety audits; general housekeeping; use of basic hand tools; reading tape measure; record data; move raw material safely; monitor equipment; certified crane operator
  • Must be able to read and understand daily layout production schedules.
  • Able to train all Crane Operators.
  • Other duties assigned by the management staff.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Able to orchestrate the movement of multiple crane simultaneously
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Crane Operator 1
  • Must have experience with loading and unloading the Spinner
  • High School Diploma or GED is highly desirable but not required
  • Able to work in teams and able to communicate verbally and nonverbally
  • One year of general labor experience preferably in a manufacturing environment or willing to learn
  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a professional manner
  • The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
  • The ability to work overtime as needed
  • The ability to work in extreme temperatures with exposure to chemicals and irritating particulates
  • The ability to recognize and solve practical problems
  • Crane certification

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • More than one year of general labor experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in working with concrete or in a similar manufacturing environment
