Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Site Superintendent to manage daily on-site operations for construction activities, including scheduling, logistics, and coordination of trades. You will enforce safety standards, ensure compliance with OSHA and Port Authority of NY & NJ protocols, and support quality control efforts to ensure work aligns with contract documents and design specifications. This role requires conducting daily site walks, documenting progress, and communicating updates to project management while collaborating with subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, and client representatives to resolve field issues.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily on-site operations for construction activities, including scheduling, logistics, and coordination of trades.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and Port Authority of NY & NJ protocols.
- Support quality control efforts and ensure work aligns with contract documents and design specifications.
- Conduct daily site walks, document progress, and communicate updates to project management.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, and client representatives to resolve field issues.
- Maintain site documentation including daily reports, manpower logs, and safety documentation.
- Assist with punch list completion, closeout activities, and turnover processes.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of construction site experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or coordination role.
- Familiarity with airport construction or public infrastructure projects.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with an ability to coordinate field teams and subcontractors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Heavy civil and aviation experience is a must.
- Ideally looking for a 2-5 year junior superintendent to work on a project at JFK.
Work Environment
The work environment is on-site at JFK, five days a week, providing an opportunity to be involved in significant infrastructure projects. The role involves direct engagement with field teams, utilizing technology such as Microsoft Office, Procore, and Bluebeam to enhance productivity and communication.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
