ABOUT THE TEAM
You will be part of Carmeuse Americas, a Rock-Star team of 2500 workers and employees bringing with them their own culture and specific needs. The Americas headquarters are located in Pittsburgh, PA and have over three dozen production facilities across the Eastern U.S., Canada, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Performs all duties in a safe manner following company safety rules and policies.
- Operates plant production equipment consisting of front-end loader, vibratory feeder, flash dryer, roller mill, turbine classifier, dust collector, product conveying systems, and control systems.
- Initiates equipment adjustments necessary during production to conform to customer specifications.
- Operates raw material feed system consisting of front-end loader, loader hopper, bucket elevator, conveyor and control system (PLC).
- Retrieves production samples from each mill to ensure product meets customer specifications. Samples are taken on scheduled intervals and more frequently, if necessary. Enters results into computer software.
- Services plant and mobile equipment, and performs minor maintenance and repairs, as required.
- Prepares daily production reports, safety (MSHA) and environmental (IDEM) inspection forms.
- Performs miscellaneous plant operational duties, such as, housekeeping, clean-up of spillage, disassemble/assemble of plant equipment, minor fabrication.
- Oversees loading of finished product into trucks, consisting of loading bulk trucks and utilizing the automated scales and load out systems.
- Communicates information from shift-to-shift with regards to production, areas of concern, and changes to equipment and operating practices.
- Operates ship unloading system to unload raw limestone from ship to company property. Maintains stockpile.
- Performs maintenance duties when needed to support the maintenance staff during major plant outages and breakdowns.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of mechanical experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Willing and able to work rotating 12-hour shifts.
- Language skills ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence, and effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions.
- General math skills required
- Must be able to lift from 80-100 lbs. at times.
