Structural Welder Job Description Join a dynamic team providing fabricated structural steel products and services for the construction industry throughout the Midwest. As a 2nd Shift Welder, you will be responsible for positioning, layout, fit-up, cutting, and welding in accordance with shop drawings. You will work on thick steel beams and frames for skyscrapers in Chicago using Flux Core welding techniques, welding off blueprints, and occasionally performing assembly and grinding tasks. Responsibilities Position, layout, fit-up, cut, and weld in accordance with shop drawings. Perform Flux Core welding on thick steel beams and frames for skyscrapers. Weld off blueprints. Conduct assembly and grinding when needed. Essential Skills 1 year of Flux Core welding experience. Proficiency in MIG welding with 5 years of experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience in fabrication, fitting, and structural welding. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with structural steel products and welding techniques. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a large, heavy industrial facility on the 2nd shift, from 3pm to 1:30am, Monday through Thursday. Optionally volunteer for additional hours on Fridays after the training period. The environment is cleaner for heavy structural welding but still maintains a bit of industrial grit. Enjoy a $1.50 premium for 2nd shift work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of STOUGHTON, Wisconsin. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
