PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Assist crews to complete structural and pre-fab steel erection projects of all types. Take instruction from steel foreman to maintain schedule, quality, and progress within the specifications of each job.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines
- Read and understand blueprints and project layout
- Measure and cut metal parts to exact specifications
- Install or fabricate metal pieces into columns, girders, or other structural frameworks
- Repair or replace existing steel parts of buildings and other structures
- Basic crane rigging
- Operation of scissor lift, boomlift, and other machinery to move metal pieces into place
- Clean and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good condition
- Follow all industry and governmental regulations on safety protocols
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to lift 80 pounds
- Welding Certification preferred but not required
- Rigger/ Signalperson Certification preferred but not required
- Have a positive work attitude
- Aptitude in math
- Problem-solving abilities
- Punctual and On-Time
- Good physical condition
- Valid driver's license
