Senior Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for safely diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy construction equipment and truck fleet assets to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Day to Day

• Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment and trucks
• Repair and or rebuild engines, transmissions and drivetrain components
• Conduct hydraulic system repairs and troubleshooting
• Perform welding and metal fabrication as needed
• Repair and maintain 12v and 24v electrical systems
• Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
• Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned

About You

• Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance
• Must be dependable, safety conscious, and detail oriented
• Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (senior level)
• Strong knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
• Skilled in welding and metal fabrication
• Ability to repair and rebuild engines and drivetrain components
• Experience with milling and paving equipment is a plus
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Able to pass Dot physical
• Positive, Team-based attitude
• The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.
• The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
• High school diploma or GED equivalent

Working Conditions and physical environment: All weather conditions including heat, cold, wet, dry, and dusty.

Compensation: $31.55 - $44.14 per hour
