Supervisor, Project Managers - Transportation Engineering

The St. Louis County Department of Transportation & Public Works is seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager Supervisor to lead our road and signals projects. In this role, you will oversee project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Youll collaborate with a dynamic team and engage with various stakeholders to drive project success.

The annual starting salary for this position will be between $81,848 - $98,217 and will be based on experience and qualifications. The Supervisor will work out of the Transportation & Public Works Office in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

Examples of Duties Assist in coordinating staff availability and project schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.

Aid in formulating and establishing goals, objectives, policies, plans and programs. Provide technical and specialized functional services and make recommendations for carrying them out.
Serve as the program manager in charge of scheduling, budget, resource allocation, engineering, plan production and reporting for the Road, Bridge and Signal Improvement programs.

Assists in developing requests for qualifications, selecting design consultants, and negotiating consultant contracts.

Oversee the management of data and records associated with road and signal improvement projects.

Review plans and specifications for accuracy, conformance with standards, and compliance with regulatory codes. Manage program wide quality control/quality assurance policy.

Seal plans as required for design work completed by the team.
Assist in rendering technical services to all County Departments and establish and maintain all systems and related procedures.
Serve in the Assistant Division Manager's absence.

Perform other duties as required or assigned. Minimum Qualifications

Licensed as a Professional Engineer by the Missouri Board of Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors and Professional Landscape Architects and seven years of related experience.

SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT : A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available. The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. Responses provided to the interview questions listed under the Supplemental Question heading of this posting will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. Once questions are scored, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire. The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision. All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
