Full Time: Exempt

Saint Davids School seeks a Building Services Supervisor, for the 2025-26 year. Saint Davids is an independent elementary school for boys, located in Manhattan. Founded in the Catholic tradition, the school welcomes everyone.

Position Overview :

The Building Services Supervisor is an experienced, hands-on individual managing multiple functions of the well-maintained campus. The working supervisor oversees and performs daily maintenance, repairs and housekeeping duties. The position plans, assigns and supervises the work of maintenance staff engaged in cleaning and maintenance activities. The supervisor is on call 24/7 in response to off-hour emergencies; including scheduled weekend projects and events.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Performs ongoing facility inspections of assigned areas specific to each maintenance worker ensuring assignments are performed safely and effectively.
• Monitor facility to ensure safety standards are maintained.
• Coordinates the scheduling, setup, breakdown, and cleanup following all special events, meetings and school activities.
• Plans and assigns daily maintenance and custodial activities. Monitors overtime and maintains time and attendance records.
• Coordinates and oversees contractor and vendor activities.
• Maintains HVAC, fire alarm, fire suppression, boilers and elevators.
• Inspects maintenance equipment for proper operation and maintains physical inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies.
• Provide hands-on support to maintain the facility as necessary.
• Provides employee training in the proper handling and use of materials, supplies and equipment used in general and specialized custodial work.
• Demonstrates commitment to the continuous improvement of facility operations, work processes and service levels.
• Recognizes and addresses individual behaviors that do not meet the standard required of Saint Davids School employees.
• Stays abreast of current industry trends to create and sustain an effective and environmentally responsible cleaning program.
• Identifies issues and projects for inclusion in the annual operating and capital budgets.
• Supports personal and professional development for all department personnel
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Preferences

• High school with six years of increasingly responsible experience in maintenance and custodial services that includes supervisory experience
• Effective oral and written communication skills General computer literacy
• Friendly disposition Strong work ethic Self motivated
• Working knowledge: Carpentry-Plumbing-Electrical-HVAC-Elevator-Fire Systems
• FDNY Certificates of Fitness as required: S-95, S-12, S-13,
• Knowledge and experience working with hand tools and equipment

Annual salary range dependent on experience: $78,500 - $88,500 prorated.
