- Test concrete for slump, density, and moisture in the lab.
- Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, and client and contractor representatives regarding project requirements and testing results.
- Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
- Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
- Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
- Adhere to strict safety standards.
- Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
- Take on progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong computer skills for logging daily field reports and sending emails.
- Experience in construction materials testing is a plus.
- Knowledge of ACI standards, concrete testing, and inspection.
- Certifications such as ACI level are a plus.
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in civil engineering, geology, geoscience, or related fields.
The work environment involves typical working hours from Monday to Sunday, with shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours per day. During summer, expect to work more hours than in winter. There is no guaranteed 40-hour workweek due to industry nature, but overtime is available after 40 hours. The company offers hands-on training for entry-level civil/geotech/environmental roles and covers certification costs. The firm is employee-owned with profit-sharing opportunities.
