Carpenter

Apex Window Werks (Oakwood, OH) seeks a Carpenter responsible for quality repair, installation and construction of windows, doors and other fixtures made of wood and comparable materials. Specific duties include: construct, repair, and install windows, doors and other fixtures such as door and window frames, window sashes, window sills, door thresholds, brick moldings, and wood stairways; replace glass and repair mechanisms on windows and doors; visit customer locations for estimates to determine the condition of the project, necessary repairs, and remediation activities; identify product and repair parts required to correct customer concerns; read blueprints and study specifications to determine dimensions and materials required; use hand and power tools for repairs and installations; learn and apply the company's installation methods and techniques; measure and mark cutting lines; shape and cut materials to specified measurements; remove damaged or defective parts or sections of window/door systems and repair or replace by using appropriate tools; and follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment. Regular travel within the state is required.

Position requires 2 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Carpenter, or similar position working with wood or comparable materials. Must have 2 years of experience with each of the following: measuring and marking cutting lines on wood and comparable materials; reading blueprints and studying specifications to determine dimensions and the required materials for constructing, installing and repairs; using power and hand tools including table saw, miter saw, compressor, power drill, screwdriver, sander, router, nail gun, top handle jig saw, caulking gun, dreamer muli-tools, and tape measurer; deconstructing fixtures made of wood and comparable materials and assembling them back together once the necessary parts are repaired; and following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment. Must be willing to regularly travel within the state.
