Helpers--Carpenters

Worker will assist experienced carpenter tradesmen perform their job duties that requires less skill. Job duties may include supplying and holding materials, prepare work area with required tools and equipment, ensuring that all are operational and have ample supply of fastening materials or caulking, review and collect building materials as needed, layout materials needed for fabrication of the structure, measure, mark, drill and/or cut, align, and fasten lumber or materials with glue, screws, or nails as described in plans. May require spacing layout, positioning, and holding plumb to ensure proper alignment of materials to specifications. Assist with installation of hardware to structure, cut and hold insulating material, spread adhesive for flooring if described in design, smooth or sand surfaces to remove ridges, glue, or caulking in preparation for painted surface completion. Cleaning work area and equipment, load and secure materials by hand on transport vehicle, unloading and separating materials at work yard or worksite by hand, perform visual inspection of materials, inform supervisor of damaged materials, record use and placement of construction materials, record which tradesman used materials and where, load and unload tradesmen tools, and remove debris from work yard or worksite.
