In this position, the Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for performing mechanical, plumbing, and fire-protection systems design for our projects, including HVAC systems, process heating and cooling systems, plumbing system design, and fire-protection system design. This individual will work both with other firm staff and directly with clients. There is significant potential for career advancement with this position as the firm continues to grow.

Responsibilities And Duties
Develop HVAC system and plumbing designs for various project types, including commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings with guidance from a senior engineer.
Design and analysis of fire protection systems
Complete calculations related to mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including use of of design software for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
Production of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection drawings
Assist in the development of study or report documents
Review of submittals from contractors
Response to contractor questions
Conduct field investigations, including site visits, surveys, and assessments of existing systems
Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal codes and regulations, including ASHRAE standards
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Construction Engineering
Experience with design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
Professional Engineering (PE) license or Engineer In Training (EIT) licensure or certification.
3-10 years of experience in HVAC design for commercial, industrial, or institutional projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other HVAC design software (e.g., Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, etc.)
Ability to work effectively with other team members and clients ideal candidate will have experience meeting independently with clients
Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage a few key projects and deadlines effectively with input from more senior engineers.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
