What Youll Do:

  • Serve as a Civil Engineer for a variety of highway and roadway infrastructure projects, with a focus on New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) -led initiatives.
  • Lead or support the development of design plans, calculations, and specifications using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD) .
  • Collaborate with project managers and senior technical staff to develop and execute production work plans, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Support the preparation of NMDOT PS&E packages, including cost estimates, special provisions, and bid documents.
  • Apply a solid understanding of NMDOT design standards, guidelines, and policies to ensure compliant and constructible designs.
  • Participate in field reviews, site visits, and coordination meetings with clients and stakeholders.
  • Assist in mentoring junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture.

What Youll Bring:

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Mexico or ability to obtain.
  • 510 years of progressive experience in civil/transportation engineering, with an emphasis on roadway and highway design.
  • Demonstrated experience working on NMDOT or similar state DOT projects.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) ; familiarity with InRoads or Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Strong ability to develop and review engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a focus on client service.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.
