Job Description:
Western Nebraska Veterans Home is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to work in beautiful long term care facility and maintain high standards of sanitation required in a healthcare environment. Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of facilities, managing staff, and ensuring high standards of sanitation required in a healthcare environment. Schedule subject to change due to facility needs.
Exempt Position Wage: $23.473/hour PLUS $3/hour differential for every hour worked; $26.473
Youll lead the housekeeping team; ensure team members comply with high standards of cleanliness and sanitation protocol in a long-term healthcare environment. Manage the daily activities of the housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of all member rooms, staff offices, and general areas of the facility. Develop and implement cleaning schedules, organizing work assignments, and ensuring timely completion of tasks. Educate housekeeping staff, focusing on cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and customer service interaction. To monitor, check and maintain standards of cleanliness within all areas of the long-term care facility daily. Daily supervision of all housekeeping staff. Train new housekeeping staff. Adhere to all meetings such as health and safety, infection prevention and control, monthly team meetings. Any other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility of this position.
Requirements/ Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, HVAC, welding, or other maintenance/construction trade and one year of experience in building maintenance or a mechanical trade. Experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis. OR An Associate degree or equivalent vocational education in HVAC and one year experience servicing/maintaining/repairing HVAC systems. Experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in housekeeping or custodial work, and two years of experience in supervising assigned workers. Or Coursework/training in supervision, management or organization of custodial/housekeeping activities and processes and two years experience in custodial/housekeeping work.
Other: Valid Driver's License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: ( These are needed to perform the work assigned .)
Knowledge of : the purpose of custodial/housekeeping operations and their relationship to other agency/facility units; federal, State, and other laws, codes, and regulations pertinent to operations assigned; the methods, equipment, chemicals, and other material used in custodial/housekeeping services; principles and practices of supervision of employees and management of work functions.
Skill in: basic office and computer skills including competency in the use of email, procurement and building system applications
Ability to: lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts;
develop and manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and maintain inventory; excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, members, guests, and other departments; prioritize and multi-task; troubleshoot and identify complex problems; identify and resolve issues related to cleanliness, safety, and customer service satisfaction; maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
