The Galt House Hotel is looking for an HVAC Technician to perform the overall repairs related to heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, in accordance with management directives.

Work Requirements

  • Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to correct temperature conditions and to make adjustments
  • Maintain, monitor, repair, conduct routine preventive maintenance and non-scheduled maintenance of all heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment including, but not limited to, replacing mechanical seals, re-packing pumps and valves, replacing bearings and bets, checking for proper alignment, repairing fan coil units, brazing and soldering, calibrating controls, working on pressure vessels, replacing piping and fittings
  • Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention
  • Conduct visual inspections of gauges, dials and mechanical equipment
  • Assist in start-up, shut-down and operation of all heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment
  • Utilizes high lift for maintenance tasks when required.
  • Reports equipment repair requirements to supervisor.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, adjustments, and basic repairs on HVAC systems.
  • Performs seasonal overhauls and transitions of systems to and from heating/cooling.
  • Coordinates major component replacement and evaluation of complex system problems.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes workplace safety.
  • Responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of heating, ventilation and air condition small repair inventory.
  • Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electric controls, motor control panels and programmable logic controls.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Responsibility for maintaining an adequate inventory of electrical repair supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • HVAC Experience (1 year minimum - Required )
  • Ability to operate manual and power tools used in the performance of HVAC maintenance work.
  • Ability to prepare maintenance reports.
  • Knowledge of general safety rules, requirements, procedures and reporting requirements necessary to maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Have the ability to complete work accurately and in accordance with company standards.
  • Ability to reason and use strong judgment skills.
  • Strong leadership skills teamwork orientation.

License/Certification

  • EPA Type II (Preferred)
