Start your future with a new mission, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, located in Rolling Meadows, IL , has an immediate need for a HVAC Mechanic 3 .

The responsibilities of the HVAC Mechanic 3 include:

Installs, services, modifies, rebuilds, repair, and performs preventive maintenance on heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems in an industrial/commercial establishment in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations. Performs periodic inspections, conducts maintenance program to prevent failure of equipment, charges air-conditioning systems with refrigerant; checks and tests for leaks; fabricates, assembles, and installs ductwork; overhauls equipment. May service, modify, and maintain centralized HVAC building automation systems, including pneumatic systems, and make program corrections.

Trouble shoots electrical/electronic panels/components part of air conditioning, refrigeration equipment. May be required to install and maintain high-technology clean room environments. Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent HVAC training and experience in commercial and industrial applications.

Provides documentation and proper recording of Maintenance Department records including preventive maintenance. Observes company, OSHA, and Safety regulations. Performs related and incidental work assignments as required. Must be physically capable of working in high places from ladders etc. Must be able to follow exacting written and verbal instructions. Work includes duties as assigned by the manager. Must have the Ability to work on an on-call basis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, and 4+ years of commercial or industrial experience in HVAC & refrigeration

  • Experience and fundamental knowledge of electrical/electronics

  • Possess EPA Universal Card

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Level Clearance

  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College or trade school (HVAC) or equivalent experience

Salary Range: $67,300.00 - $112,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
