Responsibilities

The Drafter II is primarily responsible for providing end-to-end customer support, planning, and implementing fiber and coaxial connectivity solutions, coordinating installations, executing, and serving as single point of contact for customers, providing direction and project ownership by leading the implementation, execution and communication of projects for customers.

Starting pay $25hr.

This is a Remote Role

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate OSP network maps
  • Prepare drawings and designs according to client engineering specifications using applicable software
  • Provide support to other internal teams as needed such as to permit packages and traffic control plans
  • Make design decisions regarding construction and safety methods in accordance with all local, state , and federal regulations , as well as client supplied information
  • Prepar e detailed Construction Drawings for clients adhering to industry standards
  • Communi cate with internal staff and clients over phone and email
  • M anage production/time of multiple workflows
  • Perform quality checks on plan design drawings
  • Have f amiliarity with telecom projects detailing outdoor equipment, indoor building layouts , and fiber diagrams
  • Be d etail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player
  • Have e xcellent verbal & written communications skills, relationship building, self-starter, excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Have a bove average attention to detail
  • Work as part of a team or independently
  • Set up and manage CAD drafting and plan preparation standards
  • Read information and instructions and interpret and analyze contents from materials such as technical reports
  • Solve problems that are frequent and unique. CAD draftsman may need to use creativity and judgment due to frequently changing conditions
  • Complete tasks with latitude to decide what work will be required well in advance of actual activities

Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

  • Two years of Civil 3D 2014 or newer drafting experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Working knowledge of NESC, NEC and OSHA standards
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with drafters and engineers
  • Working knowledge of right-of-way, public utility easement protocols, utility design and aerial/underground installation
  • Knowledge of IPS site surveys to include field notes, photos and building entrance methods
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Must be able to pass standard background check and pre-employment drug screening
