The Opportunity

The Service/Install Foreman is responsible for overseeing and participating in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This position requires hands-on mechanical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to direct a team of millwrights to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, and safe rigging practices.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of the millwright team, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards.
  • Install, assemble, disassemble, align, and repair machinery and heavy mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to perform tasks accurately.
  • Delegate tasks and monitor progress to meet project deadlines and production goals.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; request materials as needed.
  • Train and mentor other millwrights.
  • Collaborate with foremen, project managers, engineers, and other departments to support plant operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment maintenance logs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or similar equivalent education required
  • 2 + years' experience operating as road crew
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, man lifts, and other heavy equipment safely.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with industrial machinery, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and hydraulics.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
