What you will do:

  • Serve as the primary field supervisor overseeing disaster response and recovery operations.
  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams in complex, fast-paced field environments.
  • Coordinate and supervise FEMA Public Assistance and Debris Monitoring activities.
  • Act as the first point of contact for assigned field staff and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct or oversee FEMA Damage Assessments using relevant software platforms.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with debris sorting and loading operations.
  • Support the development and submission of Project Worksheets (PWs) and associated documentation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting, including documentation and photography using mobile applications.
  • Maintain a customer service-oriented approach while interacting with clients and the public.
  • Uphold safety standards and ensure personnel compliance with PPE and operational protocols.
  • Train and mentor new field staff as needed.

What you will bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in emergency management, disaster recovery operations

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and prioritize competing deadlines.

  • Familiarity with FEMA Public Assistance (PA) and debris monitoring programs and protocols.

  • Completion of FEMA courses:

  • Debris Management/Operations

  • Project Worksheet (PW) Development

  • Cost Estimating Format (CEF)

  • 406 Hazard Mitigation

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Willing and able to deploy to any location with 24-48 hours' notice.

  • Physically capable of working 10-14+ hour days, 7 days a week in hazardous outdoor environments.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Ownership of a personal cell phone and comfort with smartphone applications.

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or coursework in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Prior experience with debris monitoring, including compliance observation and field documentation.
  • Ability to write accurate field reports and interpret technical guidelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Experience managing field teams in a matrixed operational environment

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed primarily outdoors in disaster-affected areas.
  • Exposure to hazardous conditions and proximity to heavy machinery.
  • Standing, walking, and use of handheld devices for extended periods.
  • Required personal attire includes long pants and work boots; additional safety equipment provided.
