QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelors degree in civil engineering or a related field (or its equivalent);

Possession or eligibility to obtain within 6 months of employment a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas by satisfying all the Boards requirements for licensure, i.e., Education, Examinations, and Experience;

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Uses professional judgment to independently complete engineering tasks within federal state and local established criteria;

Under the direction of the Project Manager, assigns and manages tasks and schedules to Staff Engineer (1/11) and non-exempt project team members. Will be apart of a team specializing in stream rehabilitation & stormwater management facilities, designing storm sewers, detention/water quality ponds, channels, and natural drainage systems;

Ensures the accuracy of completed tasks through the use of established HR Green QA/QC processes established for each project;

Completes major design tasks that meet the needs of internal and external customers. Typical design work consists of watershed assessments, watershed planning studies, stormwater/drainage master plans, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping studies, and flood control;

Monitors and pro-actively identifies or corrects technical, schedule or financial issues through effective communication with the Project Manager or other management staff. Provide data, drawings and information pertaining to stormwater, floodplain development, and wetland permit applications;

Independently communicates on technical matters with the client. Assists the Client in bidding or contractor selection if authorized by the Project Manager;

Monitors construction and supervises field personnel assigned to a task, data collection or a specific project. Completes field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff as needed.

Responds to contractor questions and issues; prepares and issues project addenda as needed;

Recommends and prepares change orders, if authorized by the Project Manager;

May participate in preparation of engineering services proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of the proposed work;

Signs and seals engineering documents as an authorized representative of the company; and

May act as technical expert of assigned projects when operating as an individual contributor, and may act as Project Manager on smaller scope or specialty projects as assigned.
