THE POSITION

**Although there is a salary range for this position, salary will be negotiated depending on experience.**

This recruitment will be used to establish an open competitive and promotional eligibility list that may be used to fill this vacancy and vacancies occurring in this classification for a minimum period of six (6) months. Performs a wide variety of skilled, journey-level duties in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and related facilities equipment including oversight of contracted operations and maintenances of the RTC's compressed natural gas fueling facilities, and other facilities as assigned. Leads work and/or project teams.

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

Working Conditions: May work shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Work Experience: Equivalent to high school diploma/GED; AND four (4) years of journey-level experience in one or more of the trades.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Driver's License at time of application.

Medical Examination / Drug Screening: Employment with the Regional Transportation Commission in this position is contingent upon successful results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician. A pre-employment drug test is part of the examination.

Background Investigation: Employment with the Regional Transportation Commission in this position is contingent upon successful results of a comprehensive background investigation, including qualifying education/experience verification, social security trace, criminal history records review, and driving history record check.

Professional knowledge of building fire safety systems; monitoring and oversight of contractors
Experience in leading research and replacement of HVAC units as a journeyman
Experience with processing work orders through an asset management software
Demonstrated experience leading others in a team environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical ability to perform maintenance, construction and related work, including operating hand and power equipment; stamina to stand and walk for extended periods of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds with proper equipment; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Provides expert level assistance and lead direction of assigned staff on a shift, project, location or assignment. Monitors, oversees and evaluates the work of contractors assigned to the operation and maintenance of the RTC's compressed natural gas fueling facilities, maintaining detailed records related to general contract compliance, and specifically to scheduled maintenance. Monitor and coordinate contractor and staff completion of projects, plans and deliverables. Ensures all fueling system repairs are performed in a timely manner to professional standards, in compliance with the applicable contracts. Monitors, maintains and performs standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems. Monitors performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for facilities; performs standard repair/replacement of components as appropriate. Monitors and performs maintenance of plumbing systems for facilities. Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of building operational systems. Operates a variety of office equipment, to include computers and associated software. May perform general maintenance, custodial and trash removal tasks as required. Drives vehicle to work sites and transports materials and supplies as required. Maintains records of activities performed and materials utilized and replenishes supplies. Performs other similar and related duties as required.
