GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:As the Assistant Project Manager, you will be responsible for successfully executing the Museum wide LED lighting upgrade project and contribute to other ongoing museum facilities projects. You will work in collaboration with external stakeholders such as DCAS, NYPA and NYC officials, as well as internal stakeholders including teams in Design, Curatorial, Conservation, and Buildings. You will oversee the modernization of lighting fixtures and lamps in spaces across the museum. You will oversee the work of outside vendors, and contractors and ensure coordination of work orders with department staff and security teams. You will help expand, sustain, improve, maintain and protect museum facilities, the collection, the public and the staff.
This is a position with an established end-date or time frame. Time frame will begin upon hire: 3 - Years
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Possess excellent knowledge of construction contracts, immediately get familiar with the Museum provisions, specifications, and standards.
Coordinate with departmental leaders such as - curators, administrators, designers, conservators, and facilities to ensure all stages of a project is proficiently accomplished
Grasp, review and track requests for Information, change orders, correspondence, and other project related RFIs
Ensure risks and Issues are tracked, mitigated, and resolved effectively
Work closely with and update the security team on daily activities
Prepare, provide updates and report on productivity of project milestones on a cadence to Building Manager, departments and key stakeholders, including leadership
Manage internal and external business relationships, and proactively cause and manage change as it pertains to the project
Review cost estimates for changes to contracts for submission and negotiations, present final vendors agreement to Building Manager and key stakeholders
Manage project installation schedule closely and refine as needed
Interface with all vendors assigned to project daily
Interface with city representative from DCAS and NYPA
Interface with curatorial, plan gallery closure as per project needs + review completed work with stakeholders
Equipment tracking, receiving and produce close out document for DCAS
Coordinate art protection plan, and procurement of necessary materials
Oversee daily safety meeting with contractors and provide full oversight on daily project flow
Communicate project requirements to vendors and update project status to BM and stakeholders
Create and update a min of three weeks look ahead schedule for internal stakeholders and vendors
Other related duties as assigned by Building Manager
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
2 years experience in Facilities Management, , Construction Project Management and/or MEP Project Management. Experience working in a museum/art environment a plus
Bachelors degree in relevant field is required (Engineering, Construction Management, project management, etc.).
Ability to read and comprehend construction/electrical drawings and specifications for all disciplines of electrical work; delegate related direction to trades for efficiency and quality of work
Knowledge of implementing LED lighting in Museums, LED technology, LED automation and controls as well as full understanding of essential priorities for art preservation is needed
Experience preparing construction plans, safety procedures, quality work plans, etc.
Skilled in financial management of projects, organizational and time management
General knowledge of building maintenance and MEP operations a plus
Role Required to be fully on-site
COMPENSATION RANGE:
Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 / Annually

The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidates experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.

Location Requirements
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. Commuting distance means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the Tri-state and PA areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
