Location: Doncaster, Reading, Ebbw Vale, Crawley, or Cheadle (Stockport), hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office. The role involves travel as needed and preference may be given to individuals who wish to be based out of Doncaster.

Our Opportunity

Many roles at Thales are subject to security restrictions. This position requires SC Clearance, which is advantageous if already held. If not, the successful applicant must obtain and maintain SC Clearance.

We are seeking a Project Manager for our Cybersecurity Premium Services team to lead projects from bidding to delivery. Ideal candidates will hold a degree, preferably with IPMA Level D or APM certification, and have full project lifecycle experience. Applications from motivated Assistant Project Managers and experienced Project Managers are welcome. A Cybersecurity background is preferred; candidates from defence and manufacturing sectors are also valued.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Drive key project outcomes: order intake, sales, gross margin, and cash flow

  • Develop initial project plan during bidding by capturing requirements, defining work, estimating, scheduling, and setting milestones and resources

  • Enforce project governance through gates and stages to control risks and ensure compliance across technical, procurement, and support processes

  • Deliver timely business planning and reporting per directives e.g. Project Management reviews (PMR), Business Operations Report (BOR) and On Time Delivery (OTD)

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize quality, cost, and delivery

  • Maintain strong stakeholder communication and engagement

  • Degree qualified and/or significant relevant experience

  • Preferably IPMA Level D or APM certified

  • Skilled in full business lifecycle management: capture, qualification, planning, and winning strategies

  • Expert in project scheduling tools and techniques (WBS, OBS, milestones, dependencies, EVM)

  • Proficient in Change Control, Risk, and Information Management processes

  • Experienced in managing complex projects from development to closure and support

  • Proven leader with cross-functional collaboration across Commercial, Supply Chain, and Finance

  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, interpersonal, and report-writing skills

  • Sound commercial, financial, and business acumen

Security Clearance Statement

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
