CNC Operator**
**Location:** Yakima, WA
**Pay:** DOE

**Duties:**
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
- Read blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders
- Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
- Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar role
- Proficient in the use of power tools, hand tools, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measuring instruments
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or CAD/CAM files
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Knowledge of welding techniques is a plus
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Experience with plastics injection molding is a plus
