Senior Electrician - Second Shift

Longwood Gardens is seeking a full-time, Senior Electrician to work second shift to perform installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance of electrical systems throughout the site, while adhering to established safety and electrical regulations. Primary responsibilities include:

• Providing hands-on technical expertise for day-to-day operations and maintenance of electrical equipment and controls in a safe, cost-effective manner.
• Planning, organizing, ordering materials, and prioritizing individual work orders.
• Performing day-to-day electrical maintenance, system checks to diagnose problems with the operation, and repairs of various systems including site power distribution/generation, lighting, fountain, controls, and fire alarm systems.
• Performing administrative tasks related to electrical work orders.
• Providing support for operational and emergency needs including snow removal.
• Providing operational support for scheduled events and performances throughout the gardens.
• Providing a extraordinary experience when interacting with guests.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A completed apprenticeship program or equivalent years of experience
• 10 years of demonstrated field experience.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Electrical license is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA 1910S Safety Standards, as well as ability to read P&ID, construction as-built drawings, and building prints is desired.
• Ability to operate the tools of the trade and to work with other trades.
• Familiarity with email, and Microsoft Office products.
• Strong decision-making, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to climb and work at heights on ladders, stairs, and scaffolding.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods; enter confined spaces and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

The typical schedule for Second-Shift is Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM through 11:00 PM
