Job Summary
Repairs and maintains the heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
What you will do
Performs work associated with work orders, able to work independently, read / interpret blue prints and schematics, inspects work and keeps all necessary records to ensure quality HVAC work and meet the EPA requirements on Freon, refrigerant, and CFC's.
Performs general maintenance and minor repair on cooling system; cleans, oils, and maintains pumps, motors, valves, traps, and other system components; may diagnose system malfunctions. Check compressor oil levels and replenishes as needed.
Maintains and orders supplies as needed to ensure necessary supplies are consistently available for routine operation, keeps accurate records and reports on work progress to ensure cost efficient department operations.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with others; organizes and prioritizes work effectively.
Works cooperatively with other personnel, communicates effectively with maintenance personnel, and has working knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the HVAC building maintenance fields.
Communicates with building customers on status of repairs.
Knowledge of computer operations
Education Qualifications
Vocational School training Preferred
Experience Qualifications
Applicable experience should include knowledge of various types of HVAC equipment Equipment examples include: Boilers, Air handlers, Heat Pumps, VRF, PTAC, Exhaust Fans, Fan Coil Units, and VAV Boxes Required
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of building codes; the proper use of tools and equipment, and EPA requirements for handling Refrigerant is required.
Licenses and Certifications
Universal EPA License required Required
DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required
Equivalency
Starting At: $23.84
Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
