The ASE Mechanic s main responsibility will be to maintain, repair, and inspect specialized construction equipment and vehicles to ensure proper mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems critical to supporting telecommunications infrastructure. Secondarily, your expertise will ensure the reliability and safety of fleet vehicles and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications networks. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Specialized Communication Construction Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, maintain and repair telecommunications construction equipment including, horizontal bore machines, air compressors, excavators, trailers, vacuum machines, mixers and telecommunication plows. Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicle-mounted equipment, including aerial lifts, winches, and booms. Ensure all equipment complies with industry safety standards. Vehicle Diagnostics and Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical (gas & diesel), electrical, and hydraulic issues in telecommunications vehicles, including bucket trucks, service vans/trucks, and cable splicing trailers. Perform engine, transmission, tire, and brake repairs on fleet vehicles. Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements. Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before they affect operations. Compliance and Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all repairs and services performed, including parts used and work performed. Ensure compliance with state and federal safety regulations. Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with the fleet management team to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime. Provide feedback and recommendations to improve fleet reliability and efficiency. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: ASE Certification Preferred. 5 years of heavy equipment repair. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software specific to heavy-duty and specialized vehicles. Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on telecommunications vehicles. Familiarity maintaining gas or diesel engines. Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in varying conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
