Job SummaryWere looking for a driven and experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the predevelopment of core vehicle systemsincluding structures, driveline, electrical, powertrain (PT), and electric vehicle (EV) technologies. In this role, youll be responsible for ensuring that cost, schedule, performance, and quality goals are met across multiple projects. Youll lead the execution of the Polaris Development Process (PDP), manage budgets and schedules, and drive cross-functional collaboration to bring innovative vehicle systems to life.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage complex project schedules, including milestone reviews, development builds, and identification of critical path tasks.
- Track and forecast detailed project and system costs; support budget planning and financial reporting.
- Apply the Polaris Product Development Process (PDP) to guide projects from concept through execution within the Pre Development Framework
- Align cross-functional teamsincluding program, design, and systems engineeringto ensure timely and successful project execution.
- Develop and maintain long-term product roadmaps aligned with business and technology strategies.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders to identify future product opportunities and define strategic priorities.
- Drive the adoption of emerging technologies across vehicle systems to enhance performance, cost, and customer experience.
- Aid in the execution of business cases, ensuring alignment with financial goals and program objectives.
- Identify and mitigate technical and program risks through proactive planning and cross-functional coordination.
- Support system design, sourcing, and manufacturing with a focus on safety, quality, reliability, and cost.
- Provide technical leadership and design trade-off guidance to engineering teams.
- Coordinate development activities such as analysis, layout, testing, drafting, and fabrication to meet project goals.
- Take on additional project-related assignments as needed.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related field) required.
- 7+ years' experience and proven ability to lead complex technical projects and influence cross-functional teams.
- Broad knowledge of engineering principles, development processes, and problem-solving techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to drive alignment and collaboration.
- Excellent multitasking, organizational, and communication skills.
- Creative, innovative, and action-oriented with a strong focus on quality and customer experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Experience with systems engineering tools and quality tools is a plus.
- Experience with electrical feature and hardware development is beneficial
- Passion for powersports or recreational vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive, solutions-focused attitude.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $90,000 to $119,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.
