What you’ll do as a Operator Telecom Aerial Equipment

  • This section is for the day-to-day functions of the position such as what reports does the All phases of telecommunication construction include but are not limited to: Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.
  • Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more.
  • Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavators, and more.
  • Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers
  • Flagging traffic when required
  • Understanding of separation and clearance regulations
  • Ability to safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High school diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Valid standard Driver's License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience or Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
  • Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.

Additional qualifications

  • Must understand aerial construction, climbing, and knowledge of aerial fiber and copper
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Capable of working safely in all weather conditions, including high winds and extreme temperatures
  • Strong self-starter with effective communication skills
  • May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed.
  • May include working nights and holidays as needed.
  • May be required to travel in state or overnight as necessary to meet business and job requirements.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.

  • The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate.
  • Employees performing functions of this position are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions which can include but is not limited to: extreme heat and cold temperatures; inclement weather such as rain, snow, sleet and dust as well as adverse driving conditions including wet roads, icy roads, and fog.
  • Employees in this job classification may be exposed to dust, fumes or other airborne pathogens.
  • Employees may be exposed to toxic or corrosive chemicals as well as moving machinery parts and pieces.
  • Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed.

Pay Range: The hourly range for the Operator Telecom Aerial Equipment position is $24.00 - $28.00, depending on experience.
