At North Sky Communications LLC , as an Underground Supervisor , you’ll provide direct and ethical, day-to-day supervision, communication and coordination for a construction team. You’ll be responsible for the success of all projects within a designated geographical area and/or specific revenue generating business segment, while ensuring customer satisfaction and employee engagement to promote and cultivate future growth for the company.

*This position will be assigned to our Philomath, OR work location and will be primarily managing the drop construction crews.*

What you’ll do as a Supervisor Telecom Underground:

  • You will assist with the development and execution of projects and plans supporting the organization's long-term strategy
  • You will supervise day to day activities/project teams and project progress, establish administrative guidance on project execution and ensure compliance with predetermined project deliverables
  • You will help hire, manage and train employees; schedule work for crews; ensure employees follow rules, practices and policies and schedules are met on time
  • You will review paperwork, such as dailies, timecards, billing, etc to ensure accuracy
  • You will perform pre and post inspection of jobs, pre-survey work and place one calls; ensure work is complete and clean up is done
  • You will represent company with customers, subcontractors, vendors, property owners, utilities, etc.
  • You will ensure all corporate policies and procedures are followed and contribute to company strategies and plans
  • You will be responsible for the safety on his or her jobsite; including all employees for the Company and any other employers near the jobsite
  • You will conduct periodic safety inspections, gate checks and Job Safety Observations (JSO) at each jobsite under their supervision
  • You will investigate all accidents and complete accident report in Intellex within 4 hours of the occurrence of the accident/incident
  • You will supervise staff to ensure the organization's activities are conducted accurately, ethically, consistently and according to relevant regulations, laws, and standards.
  • You will ensure the team is working safety and following all safety protocols.

What you’ll need

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • Authorization to work in the United States for this company
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
  • Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
  • Valid Class A Commercial driver's license with tanker endorsement preferred
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check and a DOT physical exam to attain a valid medical card
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience required in Aerial and/or Underground utility construction
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills required at all levels
  • Able to read prints and line out crews
  • Working outdoors subject to inclement weather conditions inclement weather conditions
  • Stand/walk for long periods
  • Willing to work weekends and work out of town when required

Physical abilities & exposures

  • Routinely: Use various electronic devices in an office setting and in the field, operate motor vehicle; Frequent sit, stand and/or walk; Frequent use of sight (specifically, close to perform computer work), hearing and voice; Use of hands, arms, and fingers to perform routine and repetitive tasks
  • Occasionally: Climb and stoop, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; Occasionally bend, squat, kneel, crawl or twist on concrete, dirt or gravel surface; Occasionally work in adverse weather conditions and uneven surfaces
