Maintenance Technician (Carpenter-Painter)

Under general supervision of the Master Trades Craftsman and Superintendent of Maintenance, this position performs skilled work focused on painting, surface preparation, and general building maintenance. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing University buildings, performing finish carpentry work, and completing small remodeling and renovation projects with a strong emphasis on interior and exterior painting.

A high school diploma and trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics.

Knowledge of painting materials, methods, tools, and techniques for both interior and exterior surfaces. Basic understanding of construction and finish carpentry practices. Familiarity with surface preparation techniques, including drywall repair, patching, sanding, priming, and caulking.
